Entries in Cecilia Tan’s player diary from the 2003 “24 Hours for Africa” Women’s Baseball Marathon. Women baseball players from the USA, Canada, Japan, and Australia came together to raise money for US Doctors for Africa by playing a 24-hour long game at the Diamondbacks’ spring training stadium in Tucson, AZ. The event included two days of pro player camp with guest instructors including John Denny Sr., John Denny Jr., Bucky Jacobsen (who played for the Seattle Mariners the following year), and others.
